Local Curlers on to Scotland

Three curlers from the Rice Lake Curling Club and one from the St. Paul Curling club joined forces to compete in Rotary’s Can-Am bonspiel in Burlington, Ontario Jan. 21-24. 32 teams competed in the international event for the opportunity to represent their countries in the World competition. The Rice Lake team was selected to be one of three teams representing the United States. Three Canadian teams were also selected at the competition to represent Canada at the World event in Scotland.
The International Curling Fellowships of Rotarians World Championship will be held in Perth Scotland in March. Teams from around the world will be competing in Perth for the top three positions to be awarded a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal.
The team members are Don Drost, Cameron; Jason Saffert, Rice Lake; Tim Jeanetta, Elk River, MN; and Andrew Morrison, Cumberland.
The team was supported by US Bank and First National Bank and Trust.
